Sometimes, hanging out in the shops is quite happening, got TV down there... after they all close the shop, they switch on their personal stuff on, or blast their own music in the shops... quite happening..

 

Monday and Tuesday I will be helping with the setup for BIRD Suntec... should be quite happening =p.. i hope they hook up the TV and the Stereo System FIRST... hahaha. Must get it all done before April 4th when it re-opens. Wonder what it will look like...

Damnit... now i gotta fix that!!! and my supplier has no time to do it!! and its urgent!! HOWWWWWWW?????????? So now, the FIRST weekend at the BIGGEST shop vivocity will have a totally unglam setup... The stand with Nike+ instructions will be fixed with scotch tape and probably... a kitchen paper roll to hold up the signage...

A strange feeling overcame me this morning when I applied for my Marriage Leave. I cant believe that I am getting married soon. It feels so right and i really have no regrets at all. I can say that I searched the globe to find you (=p - from UK, Germany to Singapore) and I cant wait to become Mrs. Ding. We have been together for almost 4 yrs now... At first I thought it wldnt pan out coz we didnt know each other well when we got together. Think we have goen through our fair share of problems but we came through just fine. So I just wnat to tell you this:

 

I love you even though sometimes you drive like an idiot.

I love you even though i hate that stupid blanket of yours.

I love you when pick patchy one up and cuddle her like a baby.

I love you coz you let me prucky.

I love you coz you say things like Katze Haare and Wasser.

I love you coz u will drive me Adam Rd to buy Chng Teng in the middle of the night and coz you let me eat $10 ice cream pots when $5 one's will do just fine...

I love you coz you always take me to eat nice food - especially Jap Food - and I love you even more when I see the two of us come out feeling so full we cant even walk.

I love you coz you put nice TV's in the house and fix the computers.

I love you when you draw (L) on the fogged up windows.

I love you coz gave me an engagement ring that was too big.

i cant believe this... singapore is such a ..... how to say... consumerism...

 

Just yesterday, CAF and I were sitting at home... bored STIFF... So we both sat down at the computer table, i opened my tv show's website... he opened up his hardwarezone webby. The net was kinda slow, so we both turned to each and said... shit the net is damn slow. Its almost scary how alike we think sometimes... so he opened up the starhub website and made a call, and just like that - i have faster internet and a new TV!! wat the hell.... he signed up for this plan where u get a free 29" TV as well.... oh well...

 

And not stopping there, we realised that we're still bored... so we need more TV channels. So once again... you hear the phone - 'Ya, Hallo, my name is D... I would like to upgrade my Channels to include..... ' and jus like that... i got Fox Crime, more Discovery channels than i cld eva need. hehe... one of the channels had this program on underwear for stiffies!!! haha

 

I foresee myself not being bored for a while =D

Anyway, today i have joined the masses and indebted myself to the government for the next 3 decades or so.. Damnit, but im so happy - i finally have my own place. I can finally hammer a nail into the wall if i feel like it... i can even change the colour of walls if i dun like it anymore. BEST!! The day we all wait for, the day that your parents warn you about ("you know ahh.. when u grow up and buy ur own house ahh.. you betta... !@#$%^&!!!!!" - that warning)... its finally here!! and im loving it!!

im so excited that im even up super early... earlier than on a work day... think work jus has that affect on uu...

We (Ernest, Duane, Ansley, Eugene, Uncle [JO], Pete, Dan, Laurent, Hann, Andrea, Therese, Pixie and me) went for a nice ride this morning =) speedo registered 60km when I reached back home. Was quite a large turnout in a long time. Nice to see all the office folks training together again. We just did a small Mandai loop - small but sweet =) Thanks folks!! Although my legs were screaming for food the entire ride still had fun =)=) Lets do this again sometime!!

 

But THENNNN... Andrea and Hann and I went to Simply Bread at 6th Ave for STICKY BUNS and FRENCH TOAST!! Best!! Thanks Andrea for showing me this place!! Foresee myself putting on some excess kg's... everyday on the way home jus 'popping' by that place...

 

 

 

Anyway.. a fren of mine put a suggestion to me the other day. CAF and I discussed it over Hanabi last nite.. (again.. haha) - seems quite feasible - Therese, you're on!! Let me make some arrangements and Ill let you know when and where =)

I actually had a pair, but I lost them during a cycling race in Malaysia - Fraser's Hill - They jus dropped off my face for some reason. I think they mus have been on my helmet, as in, I took them off for a whlie then they jus dropped off. Then, da bitch behind me jus rode over it!!! i cld even hear the SNAP of the lenses cracking. I doubt the frame broke coz its made of Carbon and Titanium... super solid. But the lense is history. Under normal circumstance, I WOULD stop to pick them up.. but this was a race... =S.. i was serioulsy gonna stop and pick it up.. but... race. U can imagine the dilema that was going on through my head when it dropped - it like a clothing dilema.. u wan this jeans, but its so ex.. but u like it so much.. but its so ex... =S=S

 

Ok, time to sign off and bring my mum to buy some things.. but before that, HerrKatze and I got some cuddling to do... =S.. he's sitting my lap now and purring.. Such a cute lil thing.... Dun worry boy.. ill bring u to the vet on Monday - ur hair is getting too much for me.. i thought it was getting better.. but its getting worse now.. This movie really took me back to my days in school - the movie is about a group of boys in an all boys school who are preparing to apply to Oxford University. They are stones in the rough and an external teacher is hired to polish them up. This story is a bit different that homosexuality is a very prominent theme, in particular between the boys and their teacher(s). The boys are intending to read is History at University and hence the film revolves around mainly their history and literature lessons. The boys can think incredibly deep for their age and always question everygthing - to depths that normal human's do not question... But its quite interesting to hear them talk about life and things... Question things like why does History happen, or how does History happen... They always speak in riddles and very.. not poetic, but very educated. In the end of the film, they all go to Oxford and the gay teacher dies.

 

But two things I really wanna mention.

today the office folks organised a nice outing to the happening 4th flr of century Sq to watch 300 =) [Thanks Holly for organising!!]

 

Anyway,, here's my take on the movie.. [not that its of any great value.. hehe - but something to comment]

 

The movie is a Man's Movie - all the testorone, all the fighting, all the blood.. all the weird creatures from the underworld and of course not to forget the 'immortals'... the 300 Spartens fight and fight and win and win - only to be betrayed by a hunchback of their own ppl who was so-called 'discarded' at birth due to his deformaties. He followed the 300 spartans intending to fight with them, only to be told by the king that he is not fit for battle... So this hunchback-traitor blew the whistle on the 300 men and the enemy killed them all. Damn, all the RAAA and killing for nothing... all the men.. all with their speers and shields, muscular thighs and 8-packs.. all the man breasts and rugged looks.. all killed coz of one hunchback... damn wasted man... somemore, when the King takes his shot to throw his speer at the king of the enemy (forgot his name.. Zeu-something-something.. ) he misses!! wat the... SPARTAN MAN!!! RAAA!!!

 

so 300 men sacrificed their lives for the better good of their wives and children... and as my collegue so positively put it at the end - '299 la...' coz one survived to tell the tale..

 

or shld it be:  301 sacrificed their lives - 301 coz u still have the hunchback who initially went out to sacrifice his life as well, only to be discarded by the king on the battlefield. but then in the end... still only 299..

hehe.. oh well - have to give it to them though - so many men trained so hard to get their bodies all in shape!! every single one!! the Captains son was quite cute though - in a hard-son-fighting kinda way.. =p

 

Last night's training session was a killer... again... actually its always a killer, but last nite was a killer and an eye-opener.

 

David cut our swim sets short for us to do a fun relay with the national disabled swimmers. 4*50m Sprint. Two teams from them, two teams from us. My team consisted of Elvia, Eddie, Duane and myself. So, off we went - I was the first swimmer. I knew that our national squad was a force to be reckoned with - i read in the papers that one of them is as of now a world record holder for a sprint distance. But it never really hits you till you look that person in the eye jus beefore the gun goes off. As i went onto the block, the fella next to me cldnt do it - simply coz he had only one leg. Alredy, I felt like.. damn, even simple things like mount the block they cant do but YET they are so fast. Ok, so i felt a bit bad, coz i can do a proper start and he cant which is kind of not fair - but then.... i was like.. screw this - i want to win.. (sorri laaa)..

 

So i jus went for it - i jumped, he didnt - but yet he beat me - and its not by a lilttle.. but by a lot!! ddamn man..

 

But it really puts things into perspective. These guys are so strong and so dedicated. And simple things that we take for granted like taking a dive off the board or even kicking... We complain when we are asked to do kicking drills, but they cannot even do it.  Respect to these guys and good on you world record holder! I salute you! You are the true sharks!!

I was just looking through the photos taken by the NUS Biathlon Team over the weekend at the Singapore Biathlon. They sweeped the Corporate Category with places 1, 2 and 3. THe pictures reminded me of a easier time in my life - where life was relatively carefree.. Fun was messing around on a nice sunny morning with your frens.. taking silly pictures, laughing at silly things, killing urself on the course of the race and during training and eating it all back during the post-race celebrations or post-training dinners.. I miss you guys!!

As a treat, CAF and I had Sushi buffet for dinner. Actually last nite's dinner was supposed to be together with the mum and the grandma and my auntie. BUT.... they kinda asked to postpone to today - so... we went alone =p

 

All you can eat Sushi Buffet at Bukit Timah - Hanabi Japanese Food. !! Best - We ate till Sashimi till our heart's content. I love jap food!!

 

Anyway, this morning, I am feeling the effects of Sing Bi - my ITB and thigh's are killing!! together with my lower back and shoulders... Can see that my cardio is back up to scratch, but the muscles are still week - actually doing all these kinda races really shows you were u lack power and strength... in my case.. seems like a lot of places =S - Gym - here I come!!

 

cutting hair day today - I always get so excited bout going to the hair salon's to cut my hair coz i always think that they will make me look better.. but instead.. i go in there and feel like shit coz the hairdresser will stand there with his woman-ly pose and say:

 

 

Then Ill be like - 'Yeah, I know...'

Then he will ask - 'but why dear?? What do you do to your hair??'

Then ill answer - 'Oh, I swim a lot.. '

Then he'll answer in relief - 'Ya laaaa, there you go dear.. you need to stop swimming!! Its really bad for your hair.. come girl.. I think you need this treatment.. its only a small bottle like this and its really good coz it does ........ you wan??? Its v v fast - jus like conditioner only, will only take extra 5 min of your time...'

 

So then, not giving in to his con-job, ill say - 'Its ok, thanks. I just need the cut today..'

Then the bitching will start:

but the best part is, after I have given in to all that shit above and put the treatment... when my hair is dry and done, he will be like...

 

 

But Gay's do cut the best styles.. Female hairstylists... always feel there is a bit of personal agenda there...

So here goes the fancy post-race report  -

 

In the morning i was pissing my pants coz the usual suspects were there - some strong-looking Ang-Moh's.. Christel Fung (who made me work my ass off for the win last yr), Sumiko, the NUS Gang and some other strong and serious looking gals in pretty pro suits.. As a matter of fact, I think I dont look that pro, if not for the Nike Swoosh on my suit, I think I would like one of those newbie Bi-Athletes.. I got some weird looks from some Ang-Mo's when I was putting Vaseline in my shoes. Wonder wat was going through their heads.. Jealous coz they didnt think of it or 'Damn this girl seriously dunno shit!!! Vaseline in her shoes?? Is she for real??'

 

Anyway.. so the swim was like in heaven.. but I still cldnt beat Christel - she makes me look like a yellowfish  - Sorry David - but she does.. She's the shark and im the Yellowfish.. a lot of potential, running not too bad either!!

 

Anyway, once again, deja-vu - i am chasing her ass down like a mad woman - again she is killing me - this small little girl is making me re-live Singapore Biathlon 2006... Thank god I manage to sight her soon enough and eventually caught her at bout half way mark. Thanks Darling for telling me that she only xx min in front of me =)

 

So the race kinda proceeded on and another girl was on my case - she looked angry...  - jus thought - oh man.. better run faster, she might hit me   

 

There were no hills - so nothing fancy to write bout that
