300 triLADIESSSSSS.... and 3 good menlets seeeeeeeeeeee....
wah, this week i got like TONS of pics.... but lets see... last weekend there were 300 ladies in action - who turned into 300 angry ladies after the rain disturbed the whole event... lets seee

a winner in my eyes... and the gun went!!
she Ran into the water amongst the 1000 other athletes... the water was choppy, but it was nothing for Michelle.. she swam her best ever time with her competitors close on her heels. she reached the shores of Singapore and ran out of the sea... ran the long 200m stretch to her bike... she slapped on those shoes, wheeled out the fierce machine and off she went on her long 90km track...
The field is chasing her but it just drives her to peddla faster and faster.. in and out of her aero position, she zipps through the 4 loops of the bike... swirling past the glass covered office blocks on Shenton Way, the empty fields of Marina South and the busy junctions of the CBD. The field of chasing ladies are trying so hard to catch her, yet they can only see her from afar.. as she zooms past the corners, each time getting further and further away from their line of sight.
coming into T2 she swiftly does an exit off the bike and it glides into the hands of the marshals who are standing by to catch her angry yet tired machine.. its as smooth as if it were reheresed in her sleep. she runs into the T2 tent, gets her running shoes and off to the 21km!! The sun is hot, but she is all cool. H2O along the way, Powergels in her hand. The heat is no problem for her!! the crowd is far behind her, the race is hers!! all she needs to do now is finish!! - and she approches the last loop around the Park before she will reach the glory stretch home!! The race is in the bag!!

fwahhh... today we started our first campaign change-out for shops - entertaining as always =) Vivo and Suntec today. but yeah.. the most entertaining part of the day was when we put the BearBrick's into the shop and when we went to see the painted bears as well. =) Nike has been collaborating with this toy company that makes BearBricks and has come up with a Windrunner bear - The Windrunner is the jacket that the bears are wearing. THENNNNNN... Nike has asked several artists to paint the bears - or rather their windrunner jackets - to display at the shop =) {selected shops onlyyyy} but yeah.. the paining event was an event by itself!! we setup the event so we got to see the bears coming off the painting production line. Check these out!!!

oh yeah... so after the bear thingy... CAF and i had dinner @ HOUSE - this nice place at Dempsey Road, which was also the place where the event was held - THANKS NIKE FOR MY DINNER!! Michelle Chia sat opposite my table. She's damn skinny... and her hair is not as nice as in the adverts... but yeah.. I have nvr had Pork so nice!! its like.. u put it in ur mouth it jus tastes like pork, but once u bite into it, OMG... dunno WAT comes out.. but its SOOOO NICE!!! CAF had the Pork steak thing, then i had the Mushroom Risotto. NICE.... we were too full for desert but we will DEF go there again. and WOOHOO!! CAF said -
"Wah, can come here again!! Can dress nice nice also =) "

and speaking of food... the Donuts @ Millenia walk are a con!! They are HOLLOW!! no wonder everyone can buy like 2 dozen's and eat them all!!!
getting there vs gracefully mature...one of the office folks set a challlenge last week in the office again... on nike+ - first to 500km - two teams - under 30's (Team Getting There) vs over 30's (Team Gracefully Mature)
so disregarding the fact that they had like... tons of more ppl than we did, plus we had many ppl out of town on work trips... yeah. we lost. on the last day of the challenge my knee felt up for a challenge and i managed to jog 10km. but yeah.. all in vain as the old ones beat us to the 500km mark.
but yeah... damn, its been a long time since i played with nike+... so when i logged in my 10km i saw like so many other features that have been added - u can join so many challenges!! i feel like trying it out jus for fun... there is this challenge - all mus run 1000km in 2008... fwah.. i struggle with half of that...

bad morningsssss....we all have them, and some get them more than others.. but this morning i had one...
i dun understand the auntie mentality... the constant rushing, the 'I MUST bE FIRST!!!' mentality, the 'give ME the seat'... and all this when the auntie is like... she is like.. using all these Young and HIP products to make herself look younger, however she commands the respect and treatment of an elderly woman...
so the story goes like this -
i was standing at the bus-stop, jus going to work as u do.. then this auntie rushes to the bus-stop and bangs straight into me... im standing at the front part of the bus-stop waiting to get on the bus - right at the edge of the pavement (****later see below****). im jus standing there looking for something in my bag and this woman bangs into me from the side and doesnt even apologise!! and its not even like a nudge, its a full blown knock.. like 'i lost my balance so im gonna use u to stabilize coz i walked too fast' kinda knock.
anyway... we all have bad days.. and today is mine - fed up with this auntie mentality of 'i dont need to apologise'... i jus closed my bag and SWUNG it onto my shoulder. guess who's standing RIGHT next to me huh??? yeah.. laptop and all my stuff all in the bag.. HEAVY.. yeah.. so she look at me; expecting me to apologise. so i look at her too. we looked at each other - i know im jus as bad as her, but hey, it felt DAMN good... hahaha. so yeah.. to make my day even more - when the bus finally came.. it stopped ahead of her, meaning i get on the bus first. and the icing on the cake is - i got the last seat on the bus!!! HAHA beat that AUNTIE!!!!!!!!

yeah.. thats the prob when u travel to work by bus i guess.. the chances of you bumping into the same ppl is higher, so u see the same irritating china man who die die mus sit for his 3 stops on the bus, the same mis-guided student with his messy hair and shirt hanging halfway out of his pants, the same promising exec in his sharp suit and the same gang of tired contruction workers.
anyway, i think this whole misunderstanding of communters would be avoided if ppl would jus stop being so Kiasu... its like.. the buses are coming - u dun need to stand right at the edge of the pavement. also, the bus will wait for you - u dun need to run and bang into ppl. also, younger ppl WILL stand up for u on the bus if u need the seat - jus ask them if they dun alredi stand up... its like.. every morning, there is this guy, he takes a bus to my bus stop. then he will not get off at the back of the bus like everyone else, he will get off at the front, so that he can stand at the front at the edge of the pavement in order to be the first one on the next bus. so kiasu!! and the stupid thing is.. EVERYONE FOLLOWS HIM!!! so in order to get a space, u also have to be kiasu or u will not get on the bus.
i think Singapore should stop the 'Courteous' campaign, and start a new 'dun be so kiasu' campaign. In singapore, buses come at a regular rate, ppl walk in an orderly fashion which is really very good!! if u compare it to other countries.. its really very amazing. so pls... auntie - i know tmw we will fight again and u are now out to kill me after i bang u back with my bag.. but jus dun be so kiasu.. u gain nothing from it... new shoes!!!!so yeah... Shape Run i came in 10th so u get a consolation prize.... [hmm... consolation...] which contains $300 Crocs voucher.. v generous for a consolation prize i MUST say...
 anyway, so CAF and i treated ourselves to a pair Crocs slippers... actually im totally anti Crocs [jus not my style...] but since I have the voucher.. might as well get CAF one... i hate those $4 slipper he loves to wear....
so we bought the least cheap looking ones...
i feel like such a dodo.. so hypocritical as i always say i hate crocs and now i own a pair (missing emoticon here... trying to have a DAMN expression...).. even went to this site and had a good laugh as well... www.ihatecrocs.com

she damn poor thing now... after the run, CAF came to get me from town and we went to pick her up from the vet. OMG, i cried... so poor thing!! she was curled up in some cage and didnt move... head burried in the corner of the cage and jus motionless amongst all the Hund's at the vet... she mus be shit-scared!!!! i cried...
 the vet gave us some pep-talk bout how fat she is... asked us to make her lose some weight...
 ... oops... tried to frighten me with... 'If you wan her to live long, you will make her go on a diet... when i cut her open there was like one inch of fat..'...BASTARD!!!
but yeah, i was more occupied with looking at my poor FrauKatze... she so poor thing!! brought her home and she jus flopped around the house as she or her legs are still stoned out from the GA. She even pee-ed lying down all over a carton box. she jus lay there in her own pee coz she is still numb from everything =(
the other Katze's are damn curious bout her... she growls all the time coz when she flops down and lands on her belly wound; she's one angry womannnnnn so the other Katze's jus run away and leave her alone....

holding the carrot...there is nothing worse that i hate than dangling the carrot... its so not a motivator.
a really bad case of carrot dangling is when u get to see and touch the carrot only to have it taken away again... i always tell Darryl that coz i realyl hate it when u get ur hopes up bout one thing, only to have them crashed down later...
anyway, this is wat happened to day... however... the shit thing is.. im the wan who took the carrot way!! THATS SO AWFUL!!! when i crossed the finish line in 9th place this morning, i was handed the 9th place tag and my fren HuiLing got the 10th one. oh mannn... behind there was one more girl who was faster than me!! so she was bumped out of 10th placing coz i slipped down one more!!!
OH MAN!!! I HATE to have the carrot taken out of myhand!! i cant imagine wat she was thinking...
and to make matters worse...
I did this to HuiLing before!!! In my first yr in NUS, she ran the IVP Timetrial for X-Country... she was in 6th place meaning, she gets selected for the main team. then.. i went for the last time trial and bumped her out to the reserve!!! OMG.. i dare not face her again.. lucky she will nvr read this.. but in the SLIM chance that she does...

off for a while...my sis's stay is coming to an end...
and ive been off work for a few days. its nice to jus pig out and do nothing for a while... nice to lie in, nice to jus enjoy home for a while. The past 3 weekends i have been 'doing things'... first Desaru, then Phuket trip and then 70.3... it jus feels like a long long LONGGGGG week that still has one more day to go... i think once the shape run is over i can start to relax a bit... so tired all the time.. one cup of kopi dun cut it anymore...
Coach skipped our swimming session this week as APS was having some event at the pool. Just as well, as everyone (minus me....
 ) would be quite tired from the weekend. So out of one race and straight into another. Shape Run is lined up this weekend. Sunday morning the 6000 lucky ladies will run either 5 or 10km. On my off day today, I went down to see the carnival @ Marina Sq. The carnival is looking good... accept for someone's bright idea to make all the exhibitors have a SUPER ugly white banner around all their posters... causing our poor suppliers to reprint our images!!!!

i cant believe i got lost. i went the wrong way... i missed the turn into Marina South.. wat a MONG.... so i cycled on and on... right into the IR construction site... not far off i know, so i tried to salvage the situation by backtracking and finding that stupid exit. but i cldnt find it... so i looked for a marshal.. the only one i cld find was the marshal who was based AFTER the marina south part.. he told me to go up the bridge.. think i must be speaking horrible english coz i told him i havent done marina south part yet, he said jus carry on...
i shld have jus backtracked again and looked one more time... idiot...

Ironman Singapore 70.3Yes... it is finally here.
And like Desaru.... im kinda TOTALLY freaked out. The race is tmw and i checked in my bike this morning. The race is officially out of my hands and has began this morning at 11am when I handed my bike to the race organisers.
ndrea called me to wish me good luck earlier on. so sweet =)
I'm totally freaked out mannn... i dun race like this.. i think the fact that u have two diff transitin points and that u cannot jus access ur running shoes or other things to 'make sure everything is ok' is totally making me go nuts. Even today the first problem popped up... i forgot my visor!!! so i quickly rushed to town and bought a new one (coz town was closer than my house).. and i begged the driver of the last van (which transports the run bags) to bring my visor to the correct place.
im super disturbed by this... somemore the whole wearing that armband thing is freaking me out as well...
HELP!!! i wan this to be over with!!!

D and I always say we go out to watch movie... but today we kinda did... we went down to vivocity and saw Heroes!!! we were just next to the stage but kinda behind it.. but luck wld have it.. the Heroes left the stage on the side that i was standing!!! so that means Hiro was right in front of meee!! Not all the Heroes came down, only Policeman Parkman, Dr. Suresh, Jessica/Nicky and Hiro. So cool!! i was starstruck. Parkman is so cool, he was in my other fav show Alias. so coooool!!

actually they had a competition ongoing while the crowd was waiting for the Heroes to arrive. the MC's got some plp from the audience to do the 'YATTAAAAA' that Hiro does in the show. wish they had asked him to do it... quite bad.. i dunno any of their real names, i only know the character names... hehe
Hiro was so cute... one of the contestants playing the YATTAAA game... she seems to be a big fan of Hiro, so she asked him whether she cld take a picture of him. he jus took the camera, put his arm around her and took one of them together cheeck to cheek!! how sweet is that!! the joy in her face was enough to brighten up 10 other's faces =)
Season 2 starts in Jan 08.... BOOOOOOOO so looonggggggggggggggggg!! CANT WAIT!!!!!!!!!! |
